Hello,

This concerns my 1998 528i. I was dropping my kids off at school one day. The school has speed bumps. A person driving behind me mentioned to me that my muffler was bouncing a lot as I drove over the speed bumps. Based on a google search it looks as though I have to replace the muffler strap. Does this seem right, and what part(s) do I need to purchase? I checked with (2) local bmw parts stores and got different answers. One said that I need a muffler mount, and another said I need a muffler strap.

Mount or strap, seems like a cheap fix. I believe the mount and strap are pretty much the same as far as replacement price goes.
