I was hoping to find someone that could give me instructions on replacing the boot itself (passenger side). My bf typically does my work for me but this time he said he needs some instruction on how to remove the broken one. I do not have any noise coming from the axle yet, so I imagine all I need to purchase part-wise is the replacement kit.
Can anyone help?

You'll need the big nut at the end of the CV shaft, too. They're not re-useable.

This is the third post I have found on a '03 X5 cv boot replacement. I've just discovered leaking on both my front boots. Is 60k or 4 years the average life for these? I had some brake and tire work done on this X5 recently and want to be sure the garage didn't do the damage.
