Today i was driving in the rain, and my windshield wipers stopped...looked at my guage cluster, and nothing is being displayed, and my cruise control didnt work, and the obc only shows time, cant toggle to any other options...

Checked fuses obviously right off the bat...all check ok...next guess is a ground issue? but no clue where to start!

HELP!!!!

Are the door locks working?
How about the windows/roof?

It sounds somewhat like a fuseable link issue, but not as definitive as some of the others I've heard of:

It will be one of the 30A fuses under the back seat. HTH.

Hope this helps. It wasn't under the seat? Not under the hood.

When my fusibale link went everything except the windshield wipers still worked. Turns out the link was kind of touching and kind of not, it cracked down the center yet still worked. You should check it out regardless it is very very cheap from the dealer. I paid $.60 cents for mine, and bought a spare just in case :)

I looked at the bmwe34.net link posted above...and that picture is nothing like my car...i see the fusible links on the passenger strut tower, i dont have that...and the battery in my car is in the back seat, not located where it is in that pic under the hood...weird?

Also, i looked at the fuse box, and ironically the instument cluster, cruise control, and wipers, use the same fuses: 1,17,20...im gonna change them all and make sure?

help tho

Well i resorted back to the basics of electronics, knowing that fuses and grounds play huge roles! I went over all the fuses the first time visually and with a contiuity tester. But this time, i wasnt satisfied, so i replaced a 7.5a fuse and it worked...im all good to go!

Hate over thinking stuff!!! thanks guys
