Well the most functional would be front passenger side, since that is where your intake is. Wouldn't be functional at all if you don't have a CAI.

If your looking to just vent heat from the engine, i would say some long slots towards the back of the hood, closest to the windshield. I would make the cuts the length of the stock cowl to make sure everything is proportional.

Not a big fan of vents on a N/A car though...

I like #1 without those 2 side vents. Plus the bodywork would be much easier that way.

Check out http://www.vorsteiner.com/e60m5-vented-hood.html. I think that style would look best on an E34.

Is this a track car? If not.. then I don't like vents.. I don't see any gain from them.

Thanx guys for sharing

well, I need to have the vents coz the temp. in my place reaches more than 49 C.

with A/c on and traffic jam I am think I need to do something that cools the car.

this is the main point of the hood Vents in my case.

I am gonna make it like the blue one but I wanted to share with u guys

I'll get photos to u guys

thanx again

For vents to work you need to be moving. Not going to see much impact in a traffic jam. Since it is a priority where you are, keep your cooling system in top shape with the best parts and coolant.

I vote no vents.

u r right in this point but the air circulation will be better if there is a way out to the hot air.

Geesuz, jumping, holy sh*t. What does this heat do to your interior? My car is unbearably hot if I get in it after sitting in the sun at 27 C. (80 F for the imperials:cool) I would expect cracked dashes, faded seats...etc. I would assume it is normally parked under cover?

Both options could probably look pretty nice depending on the car.

thanx for sharing guys,, will make it same option 1

zubbie

regardig the heat,, this is not the max here, it reaches upto 55C sometimes in summer, regarding the dash and seats etc.. tinting the car will be good solution ( my ride is 75% tinted (100% the max black))

regarding seats I use NIVEA Cream once a month that keep them soft and shiny and help not to get cracked

this is beside useing some leather care product.
