Hi folks - Just joined this forum as I am in the process of buying 2006 E53 3.0. It is fully loaded with Navigation, Sports, Premium, Cold, and Rear Climate Packages. Can someone provide me some information on the sound system it comes with? How many speakers? Subs? Is the CD player a CD changer and where is it located? In the dash or in the back? Does it play MP3s? Thanks!

I am assuming since you did not mention it in your list of options, it does NOT have the DSP sound system. In that case, the stock system will not have a sub. Not sure exactly how many speakers the '06 came with, but whatever speakers it has will not sound very good for very long (the stock paper cone speakers wear out quickly). My '01 had 10 speakers...mid-woofer in kick panels, mid and tweet in each front door, mid and tweet in each rear door. CD in dash was single disc, CD changer in trunk area. MP3 was, I think, an optional add-on kit for something like $300-400.
