it's supposed to be at the airport in Z-hills which is just off of highway 301 and state road 54, south east side of town.
the problem right now is that I can't get any info from fsc bmw cca. I was told to contact barry at autox@24hr.com, but he said he's not running anything in october. so wrote back to bob at fsc bmw cca. no response yet.
if I don't hear anything by the end of the day, i'll see if I can find some porsche guys who know the details.
on a side note, barry say i'd need a helmet to race. do I need to buy one of my own, or do people share helmets with newbies?

IMO, youre gonna have a great time.. especially in a car like yours... back in college, i went out to a few with a buddy and got hooked. It can turn into an expensive hobby ;). I always brought my own helmet, but sometimes people had spares for those that forgot to bring theirs... I personally would never wear another person's helmet b/c its gross... :) let us know how you run!
BIG HELPFUL TIP FOR THIS THREAD: DO NOT OVERDRIVE YOUR CAR. you will turn much faster times if you drive at 8/10ths and keep things smooth and under control. :)

Smoothness is key... and buy your own helmet. You are going to need one anyway. A motorcycle helmet should suffice.

addendum: my error. it is not the pboc hosting the event. it is porsche club of america.

here's what i heard back from george carr (the competition director for suncoast pca),
"There is no registration necessary just show up at the site at eight o'clock with your car. just make sure that your tires are inflate to the proper pressure and we will guide you through. The Porsche BMW challenge is during november and december. thanks."
so i guess this is not the fabled porsche versus bmw, but what the hell. as long as i'm not the only bimmer there!
i believe registration cost is $30 for non-members of pca, $20 for members. i didn't see anything on the website about helmets being required so i sent a follow-up email. i'll post when i hear back about helmets.

If I didn't live 4hrs away... I'd be there, even if I was the only BMW.
