Hi,
I am interested in knowing if anyone who owns a 1992 850i and does not drive it often uses the 'disconnect switch'

This car has 32, 500 miles it is garaged and used weekends in New York City.

The problem is due to useage being used 3 times or less a month for 40 miles or less each time, would it be prudent to use the disconnect switch?

I would purchase one of those Memory Saver Tools that prevents loss of computer & radio codes when the car is disconnected from the battery (it plugs into the lighter and uses a 9-volt battery)

Please has anyone used this method? I have just put new batteries in...

FYI: a trickle charger would be an ideal scenario, this is a public garage in NYC <no can do>

By the way it took the dealer 6 weeks to locate these batteries.... has anyone ever had to wait that long for batteries?

Thanks for any & all help
