Anyone got rooms they are planning to cancel or know of any good places with rooms still available? Changed your plans? I hear good things about the Seneca Lodge. :stickoutt We stayed in Ithaca last time and the Clarion there had a happening bar. -Carlos. JClark 09-25-2007, 05:15 PM Bryan - If all the places close to the track are full, Corning, Horseheads, and Elmira are probably the nearest places where you can get a decent room. Is it a big tourist weekend there? The Falls Motel and Seneca Lodge are the most happenin' places in town on a club race weekend, and they should still have rooms. B.Watts 09-25-2007, 05:19 PM Changed your plans? We were heading to O'fest in part to race with the West Coasters. Due to technical difficulties, the Evosport crew isn't coming to O'fest. Hate to back out, but it just doesn't make sense to tow all that way at this point. 23 SM, BM, CM, and DM cars are signed up for Watkins and it gives us time to stop back through RRT on the way up for some additional part throttle dyno tuning. B.Watts 09-25-2007, 05:22 PM The Falls Motel and Seneca Lodge are the most happenin' places in town on a club race weekend, and they should still have rooms. Good to know. At this late date, I thought I would see if there was anyone left with some rooms they can't get out of for free before calling to reserve one. For all I know, we may already have a room reserved...6-8 hours ago, we were still heading to Texas. :) jrkoupe 09-25-2007, 05:41 PM Good to know. Ive found a few over the yrs off the beaten track up there. T Smith 09-25-2007, 06:06 PM I booked my rooms for Watkins when I was at Road Atlanta. I booked the rooms at the Seneca for Thursday and Friday they were out of rooms for Saturday. Is your Trailer comfortable???????? I'm still looking for a room for Saturday night!!! Hope UUC can help me out. maby I can steal a bed in one of their rooms... Good luck. You are more than welcome to crash in our rooms on Thursday and Friday (that is if you want to sleep in the same room as a SPEC E36 racer) I hear that will automatically slow you down a few seconds a lap.... Steve J. 09-25-2007, 06:16 PM If their trailer is on the generator or hooked up to power, its pretty comfortable with the A/C on :) I can't imagine it'll be very hot up at the Glen during the night though. It definitely can use a satelite! This is what a friend in the FCA did, its awesome! Digital HD satelite and a comofortable bench, and even a bar! http://jaffster.com/misc/Misc/P7190003s.jpg rpob5t 09-25-2007, 10:04 PM the knights inn in Horseheads (about 15-20min south of WGI) still had some rooms, I just booked one this afternoon. If they're sold out and you can't find another let me know I'll have an extra bed; I booked two doubles, and I'm going up solo since my buddy bailed on me Trackfool 09-26-2007, 01:03 AM :pimpflashIf their trailer is on the generator or hooked up to power, its pretty comfortable with the A/C on :) I can't imagine it'll be very hot up at the Glen during the night though. Its extra bandwidth we dont need to use up. Trackfool 09-26-2007, 02:35 AM Understood Dave Hogg 09-26-2007, 06:45 AM I booked only a week ago by calling the place I usually stay. They were full, so I asked ,"where else would you recommend?" I only played that game with four consecutive places until I got the last room at a lovely B&B in town. At least somebody recommended it... JClark 09-26-2007, 09:22 AM Nearly every other place in the village of WG will be a complete dive. The little motels and B&Bs can be...interesting... A lot of people say its "part of the experience." If you want to be assured of a solid room, the Falls Motel is the way to go, or else call up a chain hotel in Corning/Elmira/Horseheads. We stayed at the Radisson in Corning before and it was great. philsans5 09-26-2007, 01:25 PM SICK! We are going to be having a crazy field! We (12 estimated) have a house, which is obviously over jammed but you guys are more than welcome to floor space, or showers at the least. Sorry, it's the best I can offer. I'll have Dan email you the people we get the house from, they have 3, $300 a night (ish)and can sleep 7 (ish). We can see if some of our "residents" or slackers like that dirty spec E36 guy can fill another house. philsans5 09-26-2007, 01:27 PM but you may want to come over saturday nite for my B day party, we're working on getting a few strippers... JClark 09-26-2007, 01:28 PM Phil- Is that the Long House (or whatever its called)? Up rt14 just north of the village? Always looking for new places to stay. philsans5 09-26-2007, 01:40 PM This is the only house we haven't stayed at before. One is right behind the main street downtown behind the breakfast place and the other is right on the lake and directly across from the giant waterfall. I don't care about scenery and even I thought that place was awesome! We went for this other house cuz it slept more people. I don't really know my way around there or route numbers, sorry! TIATO 09-26-2007, 02:08 PM Phil- Is that the Long House (or whatever its called)? Up rt14 just north of the village? Always looking for new places to stay. Jesse, yes, the Long House is out of town, North on 14, a mile +/- past the Glen Motor Inn. Not a bad place, decent rooms, moderately modern, free continental b-fast. JClark 09-26-2007, 02:10 PM I hear there are pool tables too! m332is 09-26-2007, 02:52 PM but you may want to come over saturday nite for my B day party, we're working on getting a few strippers... Looks like I will be on a short lease... my wife is coming as they need her to instruct in the school. Vince Gread 09-26-2007, 03:56 PM Bryan, if you get in a real bind PM me.
