So im sure everyone on here knows how ive been contemplating putting on a 540 throttle body to pull more air in. Well upon further research i came across this:
08/1994
540ia
Intake Mani: 11611729528
ASC TB: 13541747763
Standard TB: 13541741671
530ia
Intake Mani: 11611729692
ASC TB: 13541747768
Standard TB: 13631726591
All the part numbers (from realoem) do not match up... Does this mean that the 540i intake manifold was designed differently? Larger bore runners perhaps? I dunno, things are getting complicated. A larger TB sure, but a larger intake mani can cause the engine to run entirely different.
Im thinking that if i did swap the entire intake/mani/TB off of a 540 i would end up losing low-end power, possibly gaining more top end, higher RPM power, which is not what i want.
I want more torque for the street, not hp for the autobahn... So what are the Pro's opinions on this?
