FYI - M3 mirrors look cool, but they suck as functional mirrors because they are too small. I owned an E36 325, and now have an E36 M3. The 325 mirrors functioned well, I could see traffic next to me just fine. With the M3 mirrors, I have nearly taken out a number of cars next to me on the left, because I could not see them. I now have to lean very far forward every time I change lanes just so I can see if anyone is there, or coming up fast on me, or about to change lanes into me.

You can buy wide angle mirror inserts for the left mirror (european cars have them). But before you spend the big bucks, just know that these mirrors really suck as far as visibility goes. yeah, yeah, they do look cool ....

I know that Arospeed makes some that are direct oem fitment. So that means no 'generic' base plate. I'm not sure about wiring though... but that's a cinchie to rig up anyway. They run about ~$120 on Ebay

not to be a (smart)ass or anything but... uhm.. proper driving procedure (ie. driving manuals/drivers ed) calls for looking in the mirror followed by looking over your shoulder as well because of blind spots mirrors can't pick up... try that and you won't be running people off the road.. ;) :)

I'm also not trying to be a smart ass but I agree with Inquity. It does take a bit of getting used to, but they work fine for me. I havent taken out any cars, cut anyone off, etc.

Gee, thanks for the advice ... The point is that the blind spot in an M3 mirror is FAR greater than that of a 325/328. And if you think it's just me, read the Road & Track article that complains about them. I don't have the article in front of me, but it was the May 1997 issue reviewing the 1997 M3 sedan, and it said something like:

"The M3 mirrors must have won a design award or something, but it is hard to use them due to their small size."

I've used both, the 325 for 4 years, and the M3 for 2 years. The difference in the blind spot between the two mirrors was huge.

And besides, I'm driving so fast I don't have time to look over my shoulder ... :awink:

Well here is the update. I email him and said that his price is $120 w/out shipping unless shipped to me and then Ill shipped it to you. He said that he can’t go lower because that what he gets about for. All I need is 3 people or more to get the price for $120.00. PM if you’re interested.

Remember that the mirrors are EXACT copies of the m3 mirrors. They mirrors are made only for BMW and not some generic mirror with interchangeable mirrors like other eBay mirrors. The mirrors are quality and also use the stock mirror wires.

The mirrors have an aluminum base and ABS plastic mirror housing and blue tinted glass

He has both 2dr and 4dr..I'm still waiting for a reply to see if they are heated.

just wanted to chime in here, about 3 years ago I set up a group purchase on these things on bimmer.org (when that was the only bmw messageboard) and over 40 people joined. We set the group purchase through the mercedes parts guy you are getting it through. They come with the convex glass that came on euro M3's that allows less of a blind spot. If you want to see them on member's rides, I believe joey325 (with the turbo 325) still has his, I believe quest bought it through us, and I had it on my old 3 series, but I sold it over 3 years go :(

Sup guys. I just received my mirrors. The mirrors are in perfect condition. The mirrors were in 2 different boxes in one big box holding both mirrors. They were wrapped in bubble wrap. I just installed one to see if they fit perfect. Yes it does, and the wiring is plug and play. I also check to see if the mirror can move and yes they do.. The mirrors also come with a gasket. At first glance the gasket look cut at one corner, was kind of disappointed but then I saw the stock gasket and it also had a cut comer. So I guess its supposed to be like that. The cut is for the window trim.

So overall the mirror is a 10/10

I'm assuming the people who sent there payment through paypal on last Sunday or before should recieved there mirrors soon, since I live on the west coast.

trying to get a digital camera to take the pictures. The mirrors are on my car but there not painted yet. I wanted to see how they look like :)

The installion is easy. First remove the black plastic cover behind the mirror. There are 3 bolts holding the mirror, use the rench in the toolkit in the trunk, i forgot which one, but its the small one. After the bolts are remove the mirror then install the m3 mirrors. then plug in the plug and ur set.

KOTULCN-- after a full of driving to school and back. Your blind spot is bigger. Yes the corvex mirrors helps. I compare my mirrors with and without my broadway mirror with a object in th passager side corner and the object was unseen but with the broadway mirror you could seeit. So I highly recommend getting a broadway mirror. My broadway mirror setup is it lean more to the driverside since I always check over my should to change lanes in the left.

SR20Fastback is sorta right.. I have a broadway mirror but its not huge, its about the same size as the stock mirror. Its corvex so that it elimates your blind spot.

i installed mine today. already got them painted and eveything. the coupe ones do not come with any gaskets since the weather stripping surround is attached to the door.
these things were easy to install, just be sure to take your time removing the black plastic cover in the inside of the car.
i am also quickly getting used to them, since they realy are a lot diffeent than the stock ones

i paid $130 to have the mirrors painted and my zender lip fixed from curb rash, s the mirrors probably $70. stuff is cheap around here

install is real easy. remove the plastic cover to view the three small bolts (10mm). pry it off in a smooth fashion not to break it. disconnect the old mirror, and remove the bolts. attach new mirror with bolts. then attach plug connector.

they got a good amount of the inside, as best as they could. the inside is so deep it would be hard to get the totak interior without removing the lense

whooooooooooohoo - alpine white. praying that there is no difference in the way the mirror operates for left and right hand drive cars. Thinking I may have to modify slightly to allow my drivers side (your passenger side) to move closer to the car. soon know though.

the inside is white. they painted enough on mine to make it realy not noticable. thee is a gap around the mirror lense to hte lips that provide pretty good play and movement for the mirror, so you should be okay there

most of the time it is the painter or preppers fault when a bad job is done. i had them fix my lip spoiler and they made it look like new again. now the local earl scheib sucks though, and that is who i stay away from

I got mine on the 10th, but I was out of town. I picked them up today, and they look great. I dropped one of them off for an estimate, and will bring the other down tomorrow. It looks like its gonna be $130 bucks. Should hopefully have them done by the end of this week :)

after about a week of driving with these things on, i actualy gotten used to the small mirros and thier position. so i wouldn't be worried about that too much. i realy don't think they wuld be smaller than the oem mirrors. cuase then the mirrors would be too small to use.

I just received my mirrors yesterday, and i didnt see any distortions in either of the mirrors....maybe you might wanna speak to them about it. Overall im really happy with the mirrors, and they got here in exactly 1 week, which i was surprised about, since it was to Australia!! :)

Ok the good news is I got them on. The bad news is, as I suspected, there needs to be a bit of manafacturing on the inside of the mirrors to adjust from the USA setup to the Australian setup) Nothing to drastic just a bit of repackaing of the mirror itself. May have to do a little more to set the mirror back deeper in the outer casing, but it should not be very hard.

Because you guys drive on the other side of the road than us here in Oz, the mirrors are set up differently. (and let me tell you that when I was in America on 9 weeks holidays a few years back it scared the beejesus out of me. Remember driving from Seattle to Mt Rainier and back. Wholly fuck did I get some flame work from other drivers. )
If you sit in your passenger seat and set the mirrors up as if that is the seat you are driving from you will see what I am talking about.
I simply put a small plastic packer (7mm plastic washer)behind one side of the motor device to adjust the angle. I will proberly play around with them some more this weekend to make it a more permanant thing. Other than that, yipeeeeeeeee. Once again, cheers for setting up this GB

Have u guys since the mirrors on ebay with the aluminum base? Those mirrors are exacty replicas of the OEM mirrors. My friend bought some of ebay for 150. ill try and get some pics.
