View Full Version : AC Schnitzer Style Vented hood for a 4dr E36
m3mobbin 09-24-2007, 01:57 AM EDIT: New price is $325! This is a killer deal guys! I found a freight company as well, shipping will vary from state to state, please PM me for pricing.
Hey guys, I'm selling a brand new vented CF ACS style hood for a sedan. This hood has subtle yet functional vents to help keep underhood temps down. It uses factory mounting points and hood latches. The CF work is high quality and has great looking weave and rolled edges. This hood would be great on cars that see track or auto-x time since it offers weight savings and offers better cooling than stock style hoods.
I'm looking to get $400 picked up for the hood in SoCal. Right now I will not ship due to very high shipping costs and a high risk of damage.

///M3 CRAZY 09-24-2007, 10:09 AM ACS never made hoods so how can this be "ACS style"?
m3mobbin 09-24-2007, 01:41 PM I have an old ACS brochure that features a vented hood that they made for the CLS cars, that hood looks exactly the one for sale.
Just did a quick google and this image came up, that car looks like a authentic ACS car to me (notice the hood):

cragg56 09-24-2007, 03:29 PM To the OP
I was just wondering if it would be alright to state that I have the same hood for a coupe and is located in chicago. I would also be asking the same price.
If you would like me to remove this let me know
m3mobbin 09-24-2007, 04:05 PM That's fine.

yes the eribuni hood is styled after the CLS2 car that ACS made but none of those parts were ever sold. that was a one off car. so no hood was sold by ACS and never produced.
m3mobbin 09-25-2007, 02:34 AM :rolleyes... The CLS and CLS II both featured that hood and no they weren't one offs, ACS made at least a couple of them. ACS first designed this hood style and sold it with their cars, what should I call it, CF hood that looks exactly like the hoods ACS made for their CLS and CLS II cars?

roll your eyes all you want i worked for CEC, the importer of ACS to the US, for 3 years and have heard of or seen a part number for it and we had every part book going back to 1990 in our office. trust me if they offered it i would have ordered it. ACS NEVER sold that hood. and PS. eribuni just had their going out of business sale and was selling these for $150....
m3mobbin 09-25-2007, 10:40 PM LOL, you worked for Claus, now I see what your problem is... PS, please read forum rules before you start posting prices on people's thread, unless you enjoy timeout.

Beautiful hood, GL with sale!
that is probably from one of the handful of Cls widebody cars that were sold as a full build car. the hood was never sold separate. show me a catalog with a part number!
and P.S. i don't know it all!;)
GTOKenny690 10-08-2007, 05:54 PM sent you a PM for the hood.

What is your purpose? Seriously...you already look dumb and your breaking various rules this forum asks us to follow, relax. If your not interested go back to bimmer rides and styling and argue your points there. This a for sale ad, and someone already proved to you that the hood was produced.
Hit the showers and give it a rest man. :deadhorse:
///M3 CRAZY 10-08-2007, 07:00 PM i still stand by the fact that ACS NEVER mass produced and sold their hood as a regular part. and you can ney say all you want, it is true. this is in fact a for sale thread and you are completely right in the fact that it should stay that way.
i ask that a mod please clean this thread up so that it can be a for sale thread and that m3mobbin have good luck with his sale.
i also invite anyone to produce a part number in a catalog to show me otherwise!
BMWALDO 10-08-2007, 07:21 PM I thought the purpose of this thread was the sale of a ACS "Style" hood... "Styled" after the hood ACS produced for their CLS and CLS II cars...
Just wondering is all...

m3mobbin 10-22-2007, 02:13 AM Sorry man, I'm not shipping them. I've talked to Fedex and UPS and they won't even box these and ship them out.

Go to a UPS store, they'll box it. My UPS guy ships all kinds of odd shaped packages all the time.
m3mobbin 10-22-2007, 08:42 PM Good news, I found a good freight company that will ship to major cities over the US. You can pick the hood up at their shipping depots. Realistically shipping will be from $100-150 dollars.
