Hi guys.
I was under my car yesterday and there are a few spots where the undercoating has come off and this is bare metal in one area and the start of surface rust in another.
Besides undercoating What do you use on bare metal to seal it up?
Is there a zinc oxcide primer or POR something or other to treat the metal and to seal it before undercoating it?
Who sells this stuff.

We've been using a Line X type coating as of late. Way more durable than undercoating. Does a good job of noise suppression as well.

I'm a big fan of POR 15, but it's alot more work than a simple spray undercoating. To do it right, you have to use their Marine Clean cleaner and prep the area with their Metal Ready. The result is a very hard, resiliant surface that doesn't chip easily at all.
I have used this process for various applications on the old Beetle I use to have and also used it on my floor jack that after the paint chipped off and it started to rust.

All you need to use is etch primer and then go back over with undercoating.

What is etch primer?
I just ordered the start kit for POR 15 to take care of a few trouble spots.

It is primer that has components that chemically etch into the metal to prevent corrosion.

Originally, it would have had some rubberised underbody sealant. Wurth makes these. Or you could get truck bed liner sprayed underneath. What you need is something that will protect the metal from stone chips. See below:
