I have had this version EDIA BAS for a few years now, and have been able to use some of it's features, but I feel that there is a lot that I might be missing out on.

I am able to connect to all OBD II BMWs for dianostic purposes. I can reset SES lights, Air Bag Lights, and read faults. I have not been able to sucessfully connect to an OBD I car for engine diagnostics, I always get some kind of an error even though I am using the correct cable. I was told when I bought the software that I would be able to get full live feeds from and OBD I and OBD II ECU. For OBD II, I can get full realtime data feeds and everything.

I recently met up with a guy that use to be a BMW Tech in Germany, and he had an application (Car Solutions) that could change the options in my '04 E46. He was able to change all the comfort settings, and even reporgram the LCM to allow the fog lights to stay when the high beams are on.

Is EDIA BAS able to do these kinds of changes? All the help files and half of the application are all in German, so it is really not that much help.

sounds like you are a complete liar, since v6.4.3 only came out April of 2006. and the copy leaked to the internet was purposely left incomplete for coding and programming functions.

Maybe he meant previous versions, and he just tried the new version and he wanted to know if this was possible?

What exactly am I not telling the truth about?

My original post indicates what issues I am having with my version of EDIABAS.

If you are referring to the coding that was completed on my E46, I indicated that it was done using shoftware made by "Car Solutions".

Is there anyone out there that can help me with this version of EDIABAS?

what interface are you using? you need an ADS for older cars. ediabas is the server the applications use. if you want to screw around with the LCM you need to use NCSEXPERT. NCS is for coding and will also do CKM(car key memory).

ZeroG, I am in the same boat.

I even had a friend who translated the docs from German to English. Still, a lot of things don't make sense. I do however need proper guidance on how to use them. Will pay for the lesson obviously. But so far no one has accepted my offer.

For diagnostics, I believe that I am using INPA. The cds that I have came with a ton of programs, and I pretty sure that I have NCSEXPERT. NCS. I am just not sure how to use it, and would be grateful for any assistance. I am also not sure what ADS is. I have the hardware though for both OBD I and OBD II.

I am even able to reset some OBD I lights using INPA, I just cannot get into engine diagnostics.

INPA is for diagnosis, you can read/erase fault codes, read/erase shadow memory, align ews, reset adaptation values, and much much more. NCS is stirctly coding and will do ckm if you enable it in profile editor. when you open NCS you must first load a profile, then identify the car. one one way to learn, start messin around with it. i advise you use "read ecu" until you get familiar with the software...

Hmmm. 6.4.7 was around in 2004. 6.4.3, 2003.

The coding and programming data is widely distributed. So all it takes is a small amount of brain power to find them and copy them.

liar liar, lol.. anyway, afaik even the versions given to bmw fse's(field service engineers) do not come totally complete. they update them via the gis server.

OK, so it looks like I actully don't have the NCS coding tool. :(

Anyone, want to help me out? I would be willing to trade them whatever I have that they need.

Seems like you know your way around NCS? Where are you located? Do you offer lessons on this? Cos I am willing to pay. I do have the full setup.
