Had these installed a couple week back and I could feel the difference in grip over my old Pirelli P Zero Rosso's immediately. I mean these things REALLY stick in the dry! So yesterday I got my first instrumented results to prove it, at the dragstrip. Lowered my sixty foot times by almost 2 full tenths to 1.90, which resulted in a new best ET of 12.72! Car is still completely stock and there were no other changes other than the new tires. All this on a temp track run at a local airstrip, which means the asphalt starting line grip is really no different than on the street. Even so the car was actually bogging off the line, even with full throttle launches. Something I couldn't even begin to consider with the Pirelli's. If I'd had enough time to play with bringing up the rpms some on the launch, I'm sure I'd have gotten some 1.8x short times. Not a bad improvement for a street tire on a car with a rear suspension setup that's hardly optimized for the drag strip.

I'm looking forward to getting the set sitting in the garage on the car in the next few weeks.

Yep, these tires are incredible. I had them on my e38 and they made it handle like a sports car. BTW, they are for sale 245/45R18 since my e38 is gone...

I heart Potenza's!

Glad to hear you are getting more grip at the track straightline. Any comments on the twisties?

Haven't had it to autox yet, but that's next on the list. Unfortunately there are no road course tracks around here, but in spirited street driving the improvement over the Pirelli PZero's is again readily apparent. I'm comfortably (again talking street driving here, so not really hanging it right out on the limit - just "comfort" zone) taking lower speed corners 10mph higher than I was before and on high speed highway sweepers the car is feeling much more planted and less nervous. Playing around at low speed the read end breaks away more abruptly than with the Pirelli's, (could hang those out at crazy drift angles forever, because they were so easy to break loose) but at much higher throttle opening and then grip comes back much quicker and harder - takes a bit more getting used to than I was familiar with.

All in all, a very nice street tire that is exactly what I was looking for. One more thing to note is they're a little louder than the Pirelli's, but nothing serious.

We have customers that are not even going to an autocross if they can't get this tire. We had a guy here use the RE-01R for his rain tire at Road America with excellent results.
If I can help let me know.
