I just took a look at my car this morning to find period size flecks of white all over my drivers side froont quarter panel and side mirror housing. They are small, raised and appear to be paint splatter of some sort. I'd imagine they might be because they have been redoing the roads here and i might have caught some spray at some point. Grr. I immediately tried to chip them off with my finger nail but they wouldnt budge, i tried using water to see if they were just some sort of really stubborn dirt, but this too did not work. I also tried scratchX but this had no effect on them. I'll definitely try clay bar tomorrow when i can purchase one - it appears every damn auto supply store within 15 miles of Evanston is closed today, weird?

Any ideas guys? - ever had this happen to you before?

dont touch it until you have the clay, or else you'll just have a whole other set of problems

I think a clay bar is your best bet, but you could try bug and tar remover. Personally, I'd just do the clay, but I keep a bar or two around.

Good luck.

Clay more than likely won't do any thing unfortunatly I have tried it on my road paint problem too. I used (I know sounds crazy) brake cleaner very sparingly on the surface then flushing the paint with soapy water and it got it off. You could also try a compound of some sort.

Good luck!

Required - Mineral spirits and detailers clay (light - medium abrasive)

Allow the mineral spirit to dwell (soak a towel and place / hold on paint spot)
Lightly remove paint specks with detailers clay (it may take more than one attempt)
