So I bent some valves and possibly but hopefully didnt damage pistons, in my 325. I wont know about the pistons until the head is taken off this week. I was thinking while I'm in there and have the head ripped open, maybe should I throw some higher compression pistons and a better cam in there? Or any other performance upgrades that wouldnt be ridiculously costly? Any one have some advice and know about what this might actually do for my numbers performance wise? And what all would need to be done to do this, as in ECU wise or whatever else? I'm just trying to have this whole ordeal turn into some sort of positive outcome, rather than just pay a bunch of money just to get my car the way it was right before my big stupid mistake..

Well, if you are simply getting your head rebuilt, as opposed to rebuilding the entire engine, I'd get the head ported and polished, upgrade the cams, and leave it at that. To take advantage of the extra grunt, swap in a 3.46 diff. It'll feel like a new car.

Ya, I was thinkin about the port and polish, but what kind of cam would I put in there?

I'd want to preserve day-to-day drivability by not getting anything to radical, so something along the lines of the ZHP cams for me.
