what A4? if its a stock 1.8, yeah, i think you have a chance. if its the 3.2 forget about it. do please use the steptronic function.

Shift just like a manual. Around 2500 3000 RPMs if just daily driving, but in a race do it near the redline.

ThEnder

step has some delay so tell it to shift up (lever towards the +) when its about 350 RPM from your red line (~6K)

I duno how fast your transmission shifts but play with it a little before you race him because your car being an auto you need to figure out what the lag is and if you shift when it lags youll hit redline just play with it a bit and get it down....should be money if you ask me.

Hopefully his timing belt breaks during the race prematurely like alot of those 1.8 engines do..and you'll win..

Haha a kid with a 1.8T A4 wanted to race me so badly but he always b*tched out on me when I had my 325. Once I got my 330, he wanted nothing to do with it.

so is the mpg on my 330 :devillook

i get about 25 average, and on road trips i get between 28 and 29. i'll take that for the added power of the 330 :alright

oh wow...yeah...i kinda regret not having the intel on e46s while car shopping...the real reason i got mine was becasue of the really really good price.

in case you didn't know, the difference in power between the 330 and 325 isn't that much

its enough that you have to spend lots of money to make up for it on the 325 :devillook

theres a guy on e46fanatics right now who dropped some 20k into his car(granted not all just power mods), and he's pulling a whopping 206hp at the rear wheels from his 325... lots of money to be pulling just about as much as a stock zhp. he's also only putting down 180lb-ft to the rear wheels

isn't the 325 something like 195hp where the 330 is 225, and zhp is 235?

325i 184

330i 225

I could easily beat that. lol

I could throw a 5,000 dollar supercharger and put out 261 HP.

then a chip, CAI, differential. exhaust. ok maybe around 20k sounds right. But i would be around 270-280 hp

No, he doesn't. Audi is a great carmaker.

Maybe you should realize that the B5 A4 is a hell of a car.

whereas, if i spent just 7k, i'd have a custom turbo setup from my local indy bmw performance shop, and just wtfpwn you all :alright

doesnt' the supercharger kit come with software? and 5000 only covers the kit, you gotta have it installed too. can the supercharger be intercooled? if so, no need for a CAI...

or i could just buy a VW jetta and it will be the same thing.

Do you relize that Audi has the same exact same engine as VW with a different body. But Audi charges 15k+ more than VW for the same exact material. Werid eh?:shifty

Along with the whole bottom end of the engine, they like to burn oil alot around 90k miles.

My brother bought a 1999 Audi A4 2.8L Quattro the same day I bought my BMW 325xi, he stands no chance. His car picks up fast, but when I hit the powerband at around 80mph he is histroy, not to mention he'd roll around some of the corners my car can handle.

no way, only the 330s can stand up to the V6 Audis. Apparently they can take the S8 too...i was driving back to SB and there were several times where my 330 just killed the run from 85-110.
