Alright it is rather simple what I need help with, but I need to converse and get ideas from you guys on this one!

1) The Fuel Distributor on my 82 320i -5speed and this 1980 320i differ in the fact that the 1980 seems to be lacking a connector on the side where the fuel regulator is so I can hook the fuel line that is supposed to go from the fuel distributor to the fuel regulator. ANY IDEAS???

I can take pics if someone would do me the honor of hosting them!

2) Also anyone happen to be selling the Heating/Air Duct control center dash console area of the dash with the controls and knobs for the controls? Just need the part that is next to the gauge cluster on the immediate right, or above the actual A/C control knob if that helps! Has the vent opening selector, hot-cold switch, & the other that eludes me presently!

Update on my 1982 e21 320i...

I am still working on it and stripping it but due to my back being fudged up I had to put it off for over a week, and hope to dive back into it this week after I get my Paypal account back in order and will take some pics wither today or tomorrow!

1) I had an idea of using old 6 series taillights in the e21 as the area around where the taillights sit is rusted BAD so I thought about making the opening larger to accomodate 6 series tailights! ANY IDEAS, or am I crazy???

Thanks!

e21s are so cool cept the damn fuel distributors suck and I hate the god awful air intakes on the DAYUM M10 engines but even with all that I will most likely never switch back to an Asian market car and be a part of Rice America :buttrock

I'm trying to think of which one you are talking about now?

If its the one I'm thinking of, its a silver box with an electrical connector and 2 fittings for fuel lines mounted on a bracket under the rear side of the intake manifold?

One line comes off the feed side of the fuel distributor to the regulator, and the other goes to the return side of the fuel distributor. I don't believe that it makes a difference which way they are connected on the regulator.

what I am going to do is combine two fuel lines so one goes to the fuel regulator and another to something else.

Temporary fix for the 1980 till we get the correct fuel distibutor. Got 3 more coming in a week!

ANYONE got a 77-79 and want a Backup fuel ditributor for cheap?

I haven't tackled it yet, but my heater control back lights are dead. Are they supposed to have them, or does the control just not have any lights ? Do I need to pull the whole panel to replace the bulb if it does in fact have them?

thanks,
BJ

There's no such thing as a fuel regulator, I think you are talking about the frequency valve.

There is only one light bulb for that panel and if you have a 12ft long rubber arm you can change it without taking the panel out.
