What was the corners painted with? do you have any pictures of them lighting up. Reason for asking i tried using niteshades on mine and the light output looked red even on clear corners

I painted them with a can of good black spray paint, a can of clear spray paint, fine sandpaper, and patience. It took a long time as I cleared a couple times, a coat of thin black, sanded, another thin coat of black, some more light sanding and one light top coat of black, then finally another coat of clear. It actually came out really good. I don't have any pictures lit up, but they don't appear red at all, and the light shines through fairly well I'd say for being blacked out and keeping them dark.

EDIT: I've also had bad experiences with night shades, I never like how it comes out and the light comes out funny. Oddly, black spray paint and some sanding does the job much more effectively.
