I posted this in general mech help with no reply so I thought I would try it here where E46 guys hang out.

Only when breaking at low speeds, casual driving or when I am pulling slowly into my garage ... if I tap the breaks fairly rapidly, it feels like there is a bit of play front drivers side and a barely audible dull thunk sound.
First BMW in twently years, have owned it for two weeks. 84,000 miles, dealer serviced whole life all recommended services done.
I never like the thought of play in a component. Perhaps this is just the sound of the pads grabbing very quickly. I just dont know what to expect out of this car yet.
