Anyone had this?

Upshift to 2nd and no power (no blinking lights, no engine revving, just no power) for about 1 or 2 seconds. Then it feels like it disengages and shifts again, always making it into gear the second time. It happens in S4/5/6 and I think D4/5/6. Only once in a while, which is the problem. The dealer can't reproduce it and there's no fault code. I even let him take it home for the night. They just keep sending me home saying "sorry."

I searched a lot and couldn't find this one reported. Any thoughts? I love SMG when it works (95% of the time), but this car is no good to me.

so it only happens randomly? why dont you go for a ride with a tech and let him know exactly whats happening. also have them check the SMG pump. your car is 04 so it should be cover under warranty.

I had shift problems and tried the following (I do not remember where I first read about it)

Resetting the SMG by bringing the car to approx 20 miles per hour, put car in neutral, pull back on both shift paddles for approx 5-10 seconds. put back into gear.
