So my differential started making a clunking sound a while back when i changed gears or let of the gas (sometimes).
Took it to a shop, and the guy said the "bolt fell off", and he just put it back on. Everything was fine for a month, then it happened again.
Took it to the same guy, and he did the same thing.
I never learn :confused

So this time, he says the "bolt is fine, i think its your transmission"
The diff is clunking bad as ever...The mechanic claims it looks fine. Now i have no idea what to do..dont really know about diffs. But i am positive it is the differential.
What I think, is that somethings wrong with the differential internally, and the lazy guy never took it apart in the first place. I have no idea whats wrong and dont know how to find out.

Do you guys know of anyone or any shop nearby that can help me out for a good price? I really cant afford to take it to BMW or some other expensive place

its a 1997 m3
