Is the center resonator still in place? Personally I am dithering--My exhaust is stock but I have the magnaflows sitting under the bench. Like the quiet but.............. JimmyBones 09-17-2007, 02:18 PM In certain states, like Virginia, if you have any thing that is not stock/stock replacement the cops can write you a ticket for it. Espically exhaust that is louder then the cop likes. moonslook 09-17-2007, 04:02 PM well, it is not that noisy, but if i take the silence tubes off you will hear it from 3 miles away. i dont want all the neighbors to wake up when i pull in. Koizumi 09-17-2007, 05:41 PM I've been thinking about getting a new exhaust for my 840. It's too bad that one can test out an exhaust to see how it sounds/works before buying it. That, my friends, is a reason as to why I have remained stock. I'd like a little more power (who wouldn't?) and I'd like a little more sound, but, I don't want my car to sound like a pea shooter or Rice Racer. madelife08 09-18-2007, 06:13 AM I just recently put magnaflow exhaust on my 850, thought the sound was a bit weak...so I had the cut the resonator off, and now it is perfect! I was scared it was going to have a cheap honda, or "boat like" mustang sound. But it didn't at all. Sounds more european...like a ferarri. It's got an accent! Ha. The hardest part was deciding what tips to go with...i'm still on the fence about my decision. Any thoughts? Koizumi 09-18-2007, 01:00 PM Nice ride... So I assume that once you cut the resonators off, it is permanent? I wonder if your Magnaflow would sound different on an M60 engine versus your M70. 840ways 09-18-2007, 02:47 PM Nice ride... Stock exhaust on the 840 sounds better & more authetic than the aftermarket! Hell that one of the main features of my 840Ci that I LOVE is the destintive Growl when I get on-it. I am putting Stock when I need to replace. Just my .02! Now my 1988 M3, has After-market Borler Exhaust. Sounds/Breaths better. She Goes! It's personal preference! Do what you like! 840ways to C :redspot Ahmed303 09-18-2007, 03:20 PM I personally do not like the rectangle tips. They are very old school Chevy / Caddy style. But it is your choice not mine. I had a choice of MagnaFlow and Supersprint and I went with SuperSprint against the common choice and been happy with it. Koizumi 09-18-2007, 03:29 PM I do like the V8 growl! You might be right, I am not sure if it needs any improvement soundwise :) madelife08 09-21-2007, 07:26 AM I personally do not like the rectangle tips. They are very old school Chevy / Caddy style. Yeah, I sort of thought that myself after I had them put on. Oh well, at least the tips can be changed easily. Other than that, I have nothing bad to say about the magnaflow. I am sure that supersprint is great too. Anyone want to buy some rectangle exhaust tips... 8eights 10-10-2007, 12:15 PM I'll take them! Someone took some off of my 83 caddy yesterday!!! Check out the sound of the m3 with Magnaflows. http://www.magnaflow.com/04sound/04sport.asp |
