Hello Everyone,

I have a 2005 X3 3.0i with factory Navigation.

My question is regarding a BMW X3 with the dealer-installed center-console mounted DVD player with LCD headrests and a factory Navigation unit.

First off, I know this is illegal in most states, however I'm curious anyway.

Is there a way to feed the video from the DVD player through the Navigation display on the dashboard? What about the audio - is there a way to feed that through the factory stereo system?

If yes, how would I select the DVD feeds for both video and audio? Does anyone have schematics or pictures of this modification?

I think it is possible because I know BMW manufactures an after-market backupcamera system that feeds through the navigation - so there must be an auxiliary video input. I'm assuming the radio probably has an auxiliary input, but I'd also like to use an iPod at some point.

Thanks for your help.

I don't have any clue about the video.

but as far as the audio goes, in the X5's, the audio signal is sent into the vehicles speakers using the AUX mode on the radio.

on X3's, there is no audio integration into the car's speakers. only the kids can listen with their headphones. i'm sure it's possible, but it's not set up that way, like the X5's
