Well i guess i am number two.
Mine is still not quite done but i did get to take her home one night and drive it a little bit:D I am soooo freaking thrilled to have her back!!
It all started with a blown headgasket about 5 months or so ago and escalated from there to the full swap. I got a great engine with a two year warranty and had an amazing mechanic do the swap in his tuner shop(his shop specializes in FI for bimmers only) :buttrock
I will be posting updates in my http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=831127 thread as we go, and that will have a completet parts list of everything i bought as well as everything he had to buy. But as of now it still has the 3.0 DME MAF and intake box but ran awsome. This week or early next week we will be putting it on the dyno after he does the custom tune :redspotso i will be posting pics as well as dyno results and the parts list as it comes to me.

hmm im thinking this kind of swap would be a good option for me. so just to make sure i have the right idea essentially all youre doing is putting a 540i engine in a 530i?

well it not to bad of a swap for a do it yourslfer
