(95 525i Bimmer) I had my brakes checked out professionally and while I'm driving the "Brake Lining Owners Manual" warning displays. All of the senors were checked. Can any assist me in trouble shooting this.

Thanks

Do you understand how the brake sensors work? When you say they were "checked" what does that mean or entail?

The sensors have a plastic end that is inserted in the brake pad. When the pads wear down, the plastic end of the brake sensor is then exposed to the rotor, as the pad continues to wear, the plastic end is worn away along with the pad...and soon the metal wire in the plastic end of the brake sensor is exposed. When that happens, the circuit is opened and the BRAKE LINING warning appears in the CCD (check control display) to warn the driver that it's time to replace the brake pads because they are reaching critical mass! :)

If your pads are okay, then perhaps one of the brake sensor wires were broken when they got "checked". Either way, you need to get back under there and have a look see as to what's going on. You either need new brake sensors, new pads, or perhaps the electrical connection has come loose.

Oh yeah, there is a brake sensor on each axle...the front driver's side...and the rear passenger side.
