I had to take it out to drive in my newly S T R A I G H T, NON-TWISTED seats!!

I did it for 4 hours today, and DID NOT give up.

I've had the seat out of the car a few months back but gave up and "somehow" got the passanger's seat straight but it twists if you move it and the headrest does not work.

So now the drivers is FULLY FUNCTIONING except for one of the motors to tilt the backrest. The cable was ate by the motor or something so I'm ordering a new one with my brakes, it's just resting under the seat so if I need to move it I just use a drill.

My dad could NOT figure out how to do it, so I'm feeling pretty proud.

Very BIG thanks to all the help/write-ups. I feel like I've accomplished alot with this car and only being 17... :)

YES! NO more n00b questions coming from me.
:alright

Ahh yes, I remember my first non-twisted seats ride a few months back. It is a good feeling. It was a royal PITA, but all is worth it in the end. Congrats!

Cheers

Can someone please define "Twisted Seats" for me? There seems to be a lot of it being mentioned on the forums lately and I'd just like to know what exactly the issue is.

Twisted Seat = when one side of the seat back no longer moves in tandem with the other side...thus creating a "cocked" or "crook" or "twist" in the seat back (sometimes it happens to the seat bottom). One side of the seat moves as the other side remains stationary, invariably causing a twisted appearance.

After spending 30 minutes searching the archives to find an example (pic) ...I couldn't find one ...I guess no one wants to show the seat in disrepair? :(

Sometimes you will see examples of twisted seats when looking at pics of used cars...its very obvious as soon as you see it.

Congrats Brody. I'm assuming you figured out the right tool to use. Sorry I'm not more encyclopedic. :D

I remember reading a while back how you were enthusiastic about learning on the car but had no experience. Congrats man, a year ago, I barely knew what I was doing but short of heavy engine work, I'm confident I can do anything. Keep up the good work.

Fuel Pump
Fuel Filter
Spark Plugs
Oil Change

And this week I'm doing Brakes, ATF (hopefully... little nervous!!), and hopefully NEW coolant!!

I love my car. :round

BTW: Does anyone know where I can get the seat cables? I have seen them before and can't remember where.

THANKS!!

Thanks, nice definition. Isn't there a way to get in and fix that problem though? Sounds pretty simple.
