View Full Version : Smashed e30 on 400SB Friday Evening?

About 6:45...red, small bumpers, lowered, cage and 16in SSR wheels perhaps? Couldn't see if it was a two or four-door as I was a couple of lanes over. Looked like it was hit from behind, and pretty badly too.

Sorry to see such things, especially with a really clean e30. Anyone here? If so, I hope you're okay.

Damn, caged car on the street in a wreck?? I have a feeling the driver is probably hurt VERY badly.

Might have been.

It could have been a roll bar. Like I said, I didn't get a great view.

Eugh ((roll bar - harnesses - sufficient padding) + street use) = bad. A lot of people take the risk regardless.

I know of one dude with a 24v swapped 4 door. Hopefully it's not him. There's another fellow who used to come to bmwcca auto-x and HPDEs with a red car with a roll bar. Hmm....and there's a third fellow as well...bah too many red e30s with roll bars - hopefully he or she is okay :(

I never like seeing BMW's in accidents... however when I see a modded BMW in an accident, I weep on the inside.

Hope the driver is alright,

Neither do I but giving a kid a caged, boosted e30 is not safe...

Didn't know it went to Florida. Oh well.

Needless to say hopefully the driver is safe.

besides the fact, Halston... That Geordie said the car was smashed from the rear... The other thing being that the kid seemed really responsible, other than drifting his vert in competitions, but he seemed cool... And if he wrecked, he would probably be a goner... Anyway.. Hows it going?

I am fine.

Wrecked from the rear doesn't mean it is not truly your fault despite what US laws say ;)

I am not placing blames. I was simply stating that giving a "kid" a boosted, caged e30 is not a good idea. Just me.

It probably is not even him since TIG said the car went to Florida. I don't know any other red caged e30s so who knows.

meh

Drive on 400 during rush hour. Morons switch 2 lanes at a time to gain 1 car length then slam on the breaks after they cut you off ;)

That would fit with Gordie's description - red caged E30, and that car actually has 5 spoke 16" Team Dynamics, silver in color.

Car was delivered to Florida for a drift event, I don't believe the owner lives in flrida. I could be wrong though.

Who cares if it was wrecked in the rear? For all we know, a cr might've been speeding havily behind, and was simply i the way (yah, this happens often, doens't it??? :rolleyes).

A far more likely scenario, howeveer, would be that the owner/driver of said vehicle was diving recklessly and/or speeding, and perhaps saw a cop and stood on the brakes, therefore creating a dangerous situatio, dangerous enough to cause an accident??? I'm just speculating, I mean nothing, I'd like to kow the truth though.

Might, or might not be. Regardless, the car was hit, and hit from the rear. I don't think it matters right now who'se fault it as. I'm curious if the car can/will be identified to the bf.c community, and hopefully nobody was hurt.

Hey Kenny... it doesnt matter what happens before someone gets rear ended.

It's the driver behind's responsibility to avoid a rear end collision. If someone cuts you off, slow down ASAP. It's still YOUR FAULT if you rear end them.

And if he stood on the brakes to avoid a cop... it's still the fault of the person who rear ended him. Or the cop. They need to find something better to do.

ok...

I don't want to start a huge argument but that person who rear ended might get the ticket but it is NOT always their fault.

IE the situation Ken and I said. If there is a car and half length of space between two cars and I whip in between you and slam on the brakes. Guarantee you hit me and I would say it was my fault. You can't always be 100% ready for some douche trying to make up 1 car length.

Halston, why are you such a moron?

Geordie said it was hit from behind and it looked bad too which means that the person hitting that car from behind (and at fault on paper) was traveling a high rate of speed when they hit that e30. From what I got from Geordie's post was that it was no little fender bender which could've have been the e30s fault but was instead a hard hit. Use the 5 braincells you have and think about that. If it was a merging accident and possibly the e30's fault it wouldn't be that bad. Jesus Christ man, I really wish you didn't post on the same forums I do. You're always arguing and annoying people on here. How hard would it be for you to quit posting here and start posting on DTM or Maxbimmer?

Hope said e30 driver is okay...

How hard would it be for you? You make sarcastic comments all day long but when you do it "it is funny" so it is fine apparently.

I still can't find where I said it was "definitely that autofab kid's car AND it was 100% without a doubt his fault." Thanks for insulting my intelligence.

He was one of my customers, older person( think old like Tpat and Bill) on his way to Barber. A car decided to merge into the far right lane from the far left lane and took out the e30 in the process. My customer is fine, no injuries and no tickets. Other guy was 19, had 3 other kids and a dog in the car and received a few tickets.

Everyone say an e30 prayer as my customer has to fight with the other guy's insurance company.

*Apology*

Apology for possibly accusing the kid with the e30 that autofab built.

However, I'm glad we know who it is now, and that the driver is ok. Good luck to him with the insurance company.
