cobb was out in record yesterday. i actually drove the speed limit the whole way to school in fear of them. Every time I saw one they were pulling someone over or already writing the ticket to some unlucky person. Thanks for the heads up, maybe today is just as bad. It was just 9/11 a few days ago.....maybe they are still on high alert for a few day prior/past.

It seems like its getting worse. I love on Chastain Rd, and yesterday I hear sirens all day of cops pulling people over on Barrett, Chastain, I75, everywhere. I know Kennesaw is bad...but it hasnt been this bad in awhile.

I was coming home on I75N the other night, and saw Cobb Co. Sheriff's sitting with their parklights off on the shoulder about every 2 miles.

Though...I find this hystercial.

I was on I75S, and there was a Marietta cop following me. I was doing 65 in a 55. He was riding my tail...finally a break in the traffic. He changed lanes, sped up next to me. Gave me a pissed look, and then took off.

Then Tuesday night I was on 285E. Im already doing 70-75, and a cop just flies past me doing probably 85-90. No lights or anything. Yet if I were doing 85-90 I'd be pulled over...

It's because Tiger Woods is in town.

This morning's excursion was interesting.


When I was going South on 75 @ Windy Hill ~ 11:00 AM, the weather & visibility were excellent, traffic was moving well, not very crowded, everything more or less fine. Then, all of a sudden, there was a pair of Cobb cruisers, sitting at the end of the median wall that begins there, shooting lasers at the oncoming traffic. The result was the inner 3 or 4 lanes suddenly slamming on their brakes to slow down.

As I left my meeting about 30 minutes later, guess what the radio traffic reports are all abuzz with? A wreck, 75 Southbound at Windy Hill, that had been working for about the last 20 minutes or so. :confused

Now, who knows? After I passed by, the cops could have said to themselves, "Oh well, that was fun, let's move along." The lasering and the wreck, at the very same spot, and nearly the very same time, could just be one incredible coincidence.


As many here know, I've often noted that a cop's job is usually a thankless one, and most of the time, actually needs doing. Furthermore, I've observed that Cobb is one of the better departments out there. So this is by no means a blanket condemnation of the police.

But today, it was clearly evident that rather than let traffic on the interstate highway move at a normal flow, a couple of Cobb's revenue-generation department decided they just had to sit out there and cause a traffic HAZARD instead.

There are very good reasons why many local departments aren't allowed to run radar & laser on interstate highways. I sincerely hope the people in the wreck have good witnesses, and good lawyers. If the speed trap and the wreck are involved, someone needs to take a hard look at Cobb's tactics, and possibly, their interstate permits. :shifty



Of course, on my way back up 75, as two nimrods in 5000-lb SUVs went by, racing each other at speeds of 100 MPH+, weaving in & out of traffic, one side of the highway to the other, cutting people off, and generally making for hazardous conditions from Delk all the way up to Hwy. 5...


There was nary a blue light to be seen. :rolleyes

2 cops @ Chastain Corners/Canton Rd. @ the school. 1 cop on Canton Rd right before you get on I-75s, and 1 cop on South Marietta Prky. by SPSU. You are right, they are out today. Not to mention the weather look like it might hail. :eek:

The same thing happened on 285W around Roswell Road. Everyone going. SLAM ON THE BRAKES there is a cop. So stupid.

I passed 30+ cops yesterday on the way home from work. No joke at all. There were Alpharetta, fulton, GSP, you name it. I was on a mile stretch of road, and all it was were cops on the other side. Anyone know where they were all going? They were not in a hurry or anything.

I was going to Peter Glenn off Roswell Road on Saturday with jenny to get her some gear for her first ski trip during the off season. 40% off North Face and Spyder is good :)

Anywho we were waiting to turn left on the ramp. Sandy Springs cop is two in front of us. I make a joke about how we are busted. I look left and a copy is offroading with his lights on. No Sirens. He slowly goes through intersection(it is red) and then turn left. Then turns lights off.

I attempted to test a 800hp 996 turbo today on Ronald Ragen Blvd but had to abort because of the Police.don't think doing 150 MPH on RR Blvd was a good idea.O well tomorrow is another day.
