Hello Gentlemen(and ladies), I have had my new to me M3 for about s month now. It is an 03 alpine white with black interior. The car came with some iForged "aero" rims, but unfortunately the rims were poorly cared for. they need some refinishing. I cant decide what to do with them.
I'm kinda thinking of powder-coating the face white and re-polishing the lip? chrome the lip? polish the whole rim?
what do u guys think? thanks in advance...

I'm sorry, I think I'm too new to post pix. you can go to the iForged website to see the aeros. other than that, its a bone stock white M3. gotta use imagination to decide what would look good I guess... idk...just looking for some advice. thanks again.

On this style rim I like black centers with polished lip since you can make out the design of the centers more easily plus it gives a little contrast to the car.

^^^true. I dolike the black center. I was just thinking of a white center to be different.

in either case, do you guys think chroming the lip would be a wrong move? I just hate polishing aluminum...

There is a white 7 near me with rims on it that are white centered and polished lips, it's too much white if you ask me. I've never really noticed the difference between polishing and chroming since I haven't spent too much time comparing them but I'd probably just polish them.

Do a google on "Wheels America". They have facilities all over the US and all they do is repair/refinish wheels - for the fraction of the price of a new wheel.

I just had a set done that looked like the prior owner had a special factory option for a curb magnet.

They re-round and re-true every wheel and then refinish them, even to the extent of replacing chunks missing from the rim. I cannot tell the finished product from a new one.

Good luck,

Noticed you live in Hawaii? Did you get your car from GMC Waipahu?
Anyways, call Alloy Wheel Repair, 808-391-8633. His name is Tod Ruston. He is mobile so he can fix/repair wheels at your convenience. He is very busy, so leave him a message. I am not sure if he can repair your Iforged's but it's worth a shot. I've done business with him on 2 occasions, 18" BBS CH's and 19" Hamann PG2's. I was impressed with the quality of work.
Hope this helps.

^^^yes I did get it there. My cousin works there, so I got a decent deal... I think. Hahaha. the rims arent damaged at all. No curbs. Just the clear is peeling on the face, and the lips are all tarnished. I will give him a call to see what he thinks though. thanks man!

No problem. Let me know how it goes. If you are a BMWCCA member, he may give some discount.
