View Full Version : What is this totaled 2001 M5 worth?
jerbroc 09-11-2007, 01:48 PM My boss’s M5 was rear ended and pushed into a car in front of him. The insurance company estimated $20,000 in body repair and much more in rear suspension repair so they totaled it. The car was in top condition before the accident. I was wondering if someone would be interested in buying it. It had about 70K on it with all records kept.
Here are some crappy cell phone pics

e39dream 09-11-2007, 02:01 PM you can donate it to me and write it off on your taxes. :)
It's hard to say but I imagine if you sold it as is with a salvage title maybe 8-10 grand. maybe more. The car doesnt look like its worth rebuilding so it would really only be appealing to someone who wanted it for parts.
FP5241 09-11-2007, 02:06 PM I'll pay fifty dollars!!!!
finesta101 09-11-2007, 02:07 PM If he has anything he wants to sell fro the car from performance.. or if he has the 16:9 Nav Screen let me know... other than that its not worth rebuilding
525iT_Feen 09-11-2007, 02:08 PM Not much of a shell left on that car. The doors and all are probably f*cked. I don't see the buy back being much, but I also don't see you making much over what it will cost you to buy it back.
The s62 won't sell for what you will want it to sell for but you can still make a pretty penny on it. The interior is also worth a lot. I guess you could make a few grand on it but it would take a while. I would be interested in buying it back if it was closer.
azaytsev 09-11-2007, 02:15 PM You can sell motor, transmission, differential, drive shaft, navigation, interior trim, glass, etc and make good $
525iT_Feen 09-11-2007, 02:18 PM I still have all the glass out of the 5er I parted over a year and a half ago. Never did sell any of it. :dunno
jerbroc 09-11-2007, 02:19 PM I’ll see what the insurance company wants for it. I don’t have the room part it out myself or the cash to buy it and my boss has no interest in doing it. I was just putting it out there to someone who could give this great car a proper burial. The car is in phoenix. The front doors are ok, the backs don’t open. The interior is in excellent condition and has the 2 tone seats and 16x9 nav
ncsucarjock88 09-11-2007, 02:23 PM I want the wheels :-)
jerbroc 09-11-2007, 02:23 PM Here are some pics of the cause of this mess. He was going a bit too fast. He left a 60 ft skid and the cop estimated the impact was at 60mph. Not much left of it

What hit him? Looks like an old Thunderbird or S-Class Benz. Maybe even a Chrysler 300.
