How many miles does your 7 series have? Just bought a 98 740i and about to hit 200,000 miles. Am I good for a while?

Thanks! :)

214,065 on the clock. I can't really speak to the longevity of the V8 powered E38 but If it has been taken care of by the previous owner(s) meaning it was serviced on a regular basis and repairs did not go unattended to for long periods of time, you should be in good shape. Although, for me, 200k seems to be the magical number for suspension repairs to pop up.

Approaching 63k here. Bought her in Feb with 56. Also received the warranty replacement Alusil block at some point in it's young life. Not sure when that was though because I have been unable to obtain the BMW service records.

I love threads like these because now I realize that my old E32 7s havent been drivin much.

The 740 when I got rid of it had 203K miles on it with a warrenty block replacel due to Nasikil at 70K miles. The 750 has 185K miles and it is about to get a manual trany.

Just passed 107,000mi in my 99 750iL. It's my daily driver, and drives as nicely as the day I bought it (with 56,000). Probably better.

Like Swordsman, I'm headed for 200,000 on the V-12!

Well, it's nice to hear some of these higher mileage "7s" doing ok. I've got 90,xxx on my 99' 740iL.

I put an average of 10-11K miles a year so I'm hoping to get another 40-50K trouble free (:D) miles. I do have an Acura Legend that I might use more often in the winter time just to keep some miles off......we'll see.

My 222k+ might be inaccurate. Apparently when the speedo isn't working the odometer isn't working. The speedo cuts out frequently sometimes for a few miles sometimes for just a couple seconds.

when i picked my car up on thursday i managed a 34mpg (imperial gallon) average on the way home 135 miles, including some traffic, seems nearer 17-19 round town though, seems fairly economical for the size car.

Yea, drop an x. 165k miles. Hehe, but I hope she survives that long!

I spent most of my time in North Chelmsford, but came to the city to wander about and be touristy :)
