I am looking at the tires and they are the stock Michelins. I really don't want to buy dedicated snows for the three days a year we really get snowed on. Any recommendations on good all season tires. I really don't care as much about performance with this vehichle.
Also a question about the display, I have missing pixels is there any fix for this beyond replacing the center stack. Other than that I love the truck it is in excellent shape.
One concern I had is that the lights on the truck are standard lights and it definitely is a sport model. Do people sell these off or steal them. I can't detect any repaint or damage to the front of the vehicle either could the dealer. Is there a clear corner mod at all.

If your X5 is within warranty, less than 18 months and 25K miles past warranty or covered by CPO, the pixel deal can be fixed under warranty. But yes, the fix is to replace the cluster.

Quick suggestion -- buy the final stage resistor and keep it in a box in your glove compartment or at home. Trust me, if it has not gone -- it will ;) Easy fix; but, annoying nonetheless.

What model year?
I actually liked the engine response better in the pre-Valvetronic 4.4 (we used to have an 02 model) better than our current 05 model.

I bought an 02 X5 with 48k miles on it grey with a sport package, rear reclining seats, pretty much all the options except NAV and park distance control.
I already put 20" 4.8is rims on it that gave it a great look. I tried the contact spray fix for the pixels and didn't really get the results I was hoping for it renewed some of them but not all of them. The car would be out of warranty based on years.

The pixals issue has been recognized by BMW NA. I think you can contact them and have the display fixed at your dealer. The only cost should be one hour of labor ~100 bucks.
For this year yes, if you have sport pkg then you should have clear corner lenses. Do you have the sport seats?

The X5 does have the sport package seats suspension, wheels etc. It just didn't have the right front lights.
