I searched and did not see a DIY installation for cars that are not wired for fogs. I was fortunate enough to purchase a new set of fogs and a wiring kit including switch but don't know where to tap into etc...

Back in the day, I would wire them directly to the battery with a relay. Just install the switch and then you can run fogs with high and low beams.

Anything special if you want them to run independent of the headlight switch - ie just fogs and no parking lights or headlights?

Nothing that I can think of.
