I am about to place my Z4 Roadster order and have been debating which options to purchase since it will be a factory direct purchase. How useful for those in the forum is the Headlight Cleaning System option. This sounds like a nice to have item but is it really practical and more importantly useful?
Thanks for yoru comments in advance.

Just like every other system, it uses high pressure cleaning solution to try and remove any loose debris. I've never seen it really make a difference, but we don't have alot of headlight debris here. That being said, it does a great job of wetting up the rest of the hood.

I pulled the fuse on mine (came standard with prem pkg)
Didn't notice that it did much...
I also found that it just makes a mess... especially on a freshly washed car.

especially if you hit it by accident

The only time this is ever useful is in slushy driving conditions. As such, I never understood why they would put this on a RWD convertible sports car.

I thought headlight washers were required by law "over there".

I have yet to go through a UK winter with my Z4, so difficult to know how useful they'll be.
Having said that, they do make an awful mess of the bonnet (hood), so I reckon they'll clean any road grime with ease.
Which fuse would I pull for summer driving?

I don't remember off the top...
But your 3.0si is fused slightly different than mine anyway
