I like both of your cars (CSI Front Chin look!)
I am looking for a good Kit (Check "Gault" - still waiting for the estimate/Schematic diagram)
I want the actual CSI Kit Front Chin/bumber - only! Is this a dealer or does Gault have this item!
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Ahmed303 09-10-2007, 06:27 PM Which number are you calling? Call the direct # reserved for the 8 series. That # is 1-866-590-4252. Talk to Charlie or leave a message with me as a referral.
moonslook 09-10-2007, 07:36 PM 840 ways,
the plate holder is the same one that comes on the 840 ci but the fillers are longer. all what you needs is the fillers. if there wasn't any way to get them and you really want the usa plate holder style (the short square one) on your car you can use the csi fillers if a good body man worked on them to fit.

Moonslook you are correct about the Plate holder (I like/will use my stock 840 Plate holder)
Now the Fillers are the body strips or (Covering - Left/Right) besides the (short square 840 Plate) in this photo.
Making sure that the Filler & Covering are one-in-the Same!
Covering - Left/Right = RealOEM.com, Part # 51112253001/2
What did you go with!
Also, Is a "Spoiler Front" #9, Part # 51112252697 = RealOEm.com needed for the Trim Panel / Chin to to work/look Good!
Thanks 4 your Help!

moonslook 09-11-2007, 09:38 PM Is your car already converted into a csi or are you doing the job?
if you are doing it you are supposed to get all the stuff for the front with the csi bumper kit. ( it comes a cover and a mountning kit) if it is already a csi all what you need is the 840 plate holder and the csi coverings for the side but you gotta work on them to make them longer. I can tell that the covering L/R on the car you posted are not original because they didn't fit the same( look at the pic and you can tell the difference) so they are either aftermarket made or they been worked on as I told you to do.
parts wise ordering everything from Gault is recommended.they have the best prices and the original parts.
Koizumi 09-12-2007, 12:33 PM Does Gault offer the CSi trim kit painted with OEM paint?

Justin
Ahmed303 09-13-2007, 09:20 PM Try Sending him an E-Mail with your request at Charlie.Spear(at)gaultAuto.com
He is running 2 person less in the parts department and extremely busy. The best way to do it is to send him an E-Mail with the List of Part #s and he will get back to you with a price list. If you don't have the part #s let me know.
For Future Referance:
Here's the lowdown on the CSi body kit elements; no, you do not have to buy the entire kit; can be piece parted.

Koizumi 09-14-2007, 11:53 AM I am wondering if it is possible to use the 840 USA plate holder (which I have) instead of the Euro plate holder.

HappyLABimmer 01-30-2008, 04:51 PM Where can I find the v12 symbol that is pictured on the front grill? I have seen the v12 symbol on the current 750 series...and is there a clamp for the grill or by tape on? I want the csi kit too. Left msg for Charlie. Thanks all. BTW...anybody has the instructions for the kit: front, rear, and the mirrors...pls post if have. Much thanks.
Anybody here in Los Angeles area? If so, any recommendations on a place to get the parts painted?
Cheers!
whale 01-30-2008, 06:38 PM Here is a pic of another CSI bumper option sans license plate mount with BMW filler.
8eights 01-30-2008, 11:20 PM You guys will highly appreciate the Csi upgrade, It's just so much for an easy install!
Auraraptor 01-31-2008, 12:27 AM The V12 logo is from a Mercedes. It is in the Mercedes Font and color (slightly yellow relative to BMW chrome)
New 760s have their own V12 logo for the side front fenders. (Same design as below, sorry I don't have any other images, but see the sides of 760s to know what I am talking about) It has an adhesive backing and just sticks on.

HappyLABimmer 02-01-2008, 01:13 PM Hey guys.... ok...very close to finally buying the csi kit from Gault. But 1 big question. What is the difference in the clearance with the regular bumper and the csi bumper with the stock suspension? Is it more than 1 inch lower? Being in Los Angeles, there are lots of pot holes and just going into a parking lot/gas station can be a challenge not to scrape. Anybody has pictures side by side? Thanks!
Koizumi 02-01-2008, 03:38 PM I have not gotten the kit because of the f*cked up roads here in LA.
With the CSi nose, you cannot park head-in in parking spaces with concrete blocks... You can forget about those old driveways in Echo Park, Mt. Washington or Laurel Canyon.
I have a hard time getting in & out of gas stations as is.
But will this all deter me from picking up a kit? Nope :)
8eights 02-02-2008, 06:28 AM Anybody has pictures side by side? Thanks! Compliments to SSC!
I believe them to be lowered but not sure.

HappyLABimmer 02-02-2008, 06:14 PM Thanks 8eights for the pic. You have any regrets about the csi front about the clearance with either of your 8s? btw...how much it cost you to paint it and the rear bumper piece if you got it? I have been getting quotes in Los Angeles to get color matching and painting just the front csi bumper about $1K. Sounds about right? Thanks!
Koizumi 02-02-2008, 06:19 PM I think that Gault can paint the parts for you.
rockytt 02-02-2008, 06:25 PM Gault can paint parts - but they won't paint/ship the big ones. I.E if you're on the west coast you'll have to get them done locally. They had too many problems with the paint on the larger pieces getting damaged when shipped any great distance.
They're happy to do it with the smaller ones (side mirrors for example)
8eights 02-02-2008, 06:26 PM Thanks 8eights for the pic. You have any regrets about the csi front about the clearance with either of your 8s? btw...how much it cost you to paint it and the rear bumper piece if you got it? I have been getting quotes in Los Angeles to get color matching and painting just the front csi bumper about $1K. Sounds about right? Thanks! No regrets and my cars is lower than yours! I paid 600 to paint both spoilers and mirrors.
HappyLABimmer 02-02-2008, 06:57 PM Great! Are you in/near Los Angeles? If so, can you give me the painters 411? Thanks.
8eights 02-02-2008, 07:05 PM It's better you search around your area for somene that can do 2 stage paint, You should be able to find far better estimates in LA, I'm in Palmdale, It wouldn't be worth the back and forurth. Where about in LA are you?
HappyLABimmer 02-04-2008, 01:09 PM What is stage 2? Did they do a color match or use the bmw color code? I am in Downtown LA. The guy who quoted me $1K for painting the bumper only life time warrenties the paint and says he needs to color match it. I am going to keep shopping around. Thanks for the info.
8eights 02-04-2008, 01:30 PM That's where you paint the part, Color sand it and Buff it out! BMW's have a color code, Any good painter would no that! I know exactly where you are, Mr 1K is trying to Rob you! Take the 10 Frwy to Hoover, Go North for 1 block, Just north of Pep Boys, There is a shop right there that paint bumpers all day, They should give you a much better price, I forgot the name of the place, But you can't mis it, It's usually a bumper out front that's been recently painted all the time, Remeber it's not more than one quick block north of the 10 Frwy on the east side of the street.
TxGR8White 02-04-2008, 03:00 PM CSi lower and stock upper repaint was $300 for me. Stage 2 would be what they call "Base Coat- Clear Coat". Basically paint the part, clear coat (2 coats normal) wet sand and buff...
The guy that quoted you 1K, does that include the price of the lower CSi spoiler? It SHOULD! at that price
moonslook 02-04-2008, 06:01 PM what TxGR8White (http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/member.php?find=lastposter&t=827005) is saying is 100% right. the paint cost should not be more $300-$350. i was a auto frame tech( I am a used car dealer now) and know prices
HappyLABimmer 02-04-2008, 06:10 PM Thanks guys for the input. I was thinking how rediculous. Just to put a spoiler on. GEEZZ. I will try to find the location 8eights. THANKS!
moonslook 02-04-2008, 06:28 PM go to maaco. any maaco.. take the color code from the sticker underneath the hood and ask them for a base c clear c job.
HappyLABimmer 02-04-2008, 07:00 PM u think maaco is good? I heard not that good things about them before.
8eights 02-04-2008, 07:30 PM You might be ok with small items like spoilers and mirrors, They use a color code to match it perfectly, They give a warranty also, Don't show them the car and save a bundle! When they see something they never saw$$$$$
HappyLABimmer 02-04-2008, 08:17 PM hahaha....u got that right 8eights. I got at least 3 looks on Sat when driving her. hmmm...what is that? ^_^
But since our cars is at least over 10 years old...wouldn't it be best to bring it over there to get a color match? BTW guys with the CSI kit, did you do the install yourself? Easy/Moderate difficulty? If so, do I need to lift the car to take the original bumper off? Thanks.
8eights 02-04-2008, 08:35 PM It's a simple install, The hardest part will be getting the old standard spoiler off! It's a big time do it your selfer. If you have the correct paint on your car, No need to take the car, Only the color code is needed.
Koizumi 02-04-2008, 08:38 PM It's not too hard taking the front end off, but you'll need someone to help you put it all back together. I rate the pain in the asss factor at 50%, not bad.
Koizumi 02-04-2008, 08:46 PM Arrrf!!!!
http://img127.imageshack.us/img127/4953/photoyj0.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
Koizumi 02-04-2008, 08:47 PM BTW, I'd move those horns, too while you're at it.
HappyLABimmer 02-04-2008, 08:58 PM Koizumi, luv the pic. Hmm...u got the take off the nose too when doing the lower chin spoiler? And guess...u don't have to lift the car. Hey...u in LA too. When you going to install yours? Let's have a group install for people in LA? ^__^
8eights...found the color code in the passenger side of the hood. Thanks!
Koizumi 02-04-2008, 09:05 PM Oh no, I did not install the CSi nose, I had my nose busted by a jackass in a gold minivan. The gold minivan "felt" his way out of a parking space by backing into my nose. There was gold paint on my nose. I had to take off the entire front end to get it all repaired.
You don't need a lift, but it helps. I used a lift to take mine off/on.
I have not bought the CSi kit yet, but I am hoping to do so in the next 30 days.
Cheers :D
moonslook 02-04-2008, 11:18 PM what is your cars color anyways?
8eights 02-04-2008, 11:26 PM Koizumi, luv the pic. Hmm...u got the take off the nose too when doing the lower chin spoiler? And guess...u don't have to lift the car. Hey...u in LA too. When you going to install yours? Let's have a group install for people in LA? ^__^
8eights...found the color code in the passenger side of the hood. Thanks! When you remove the old spoiler, You can install the Csi spoiler within 30 minutes, Most of it will snap on, Remember this! The install will make you say, "This is the way the car was suppose to look" No regrets, Watch and see.
