Hey everybody.
I parted out a 98 m3 with 46k miles on it. Sold the motor a few months ago and the tranny has just been sitting around. I've been looking for an e36 with a bad auto trans for cheap but haven't found it and could use the space and cash.

Anyhow it's the ZF 320 trans from the 96-99 m3's if my memory serves me, the strongest trans used in the e36's. Everything has 46k on it except the clutch/flywheel/pressure plate. The guy who bought the motor took that stuff, I found stuff off a car with 100k but there's no telling if it's original or not. Either way it worked fine. If you're on a budget you could use all this, if not get a clutch kit, the dual mass flywheel is in good shape no problems doesn't need a resurfacing.

Everything else is there except the little 5mm hex bolts that hold the pressure plate to the flywheel, and a shift knob.

Guibo, driveshaft, pedals, clutch master, clutch slave, all lines, brake reservoir, shift lever, sound deadening thingamabob...nuts bolts hoses, everything. You might have to get a different input shaft for your diff or upgrade to an m3 LSD if you want the driveshaft to work unmodified. I've also heard on obd2 cars you might need something to keep it from triggering a check engine light, I tried to research that but didn't get anywhere, so whatever that is I don't have, if there even was something from the car...I dunno.

I want $650 for just the tranny because of the low miles and excellent condition, or $900 for everything needed to the swap. Try sourcing all this stuff seperately and you'll be happy I have it all in one place to make your life easier :)

Shipping and packaging is additional, I can ship DHL ground to anywhere in the US for a reasonable price.

Here are some pictures, if you want more just ask. its 95* and I didn't feel like moving the trans to take good pics.

Interested, how much you think shipping to 30004 might be? Also you said the clutch and flywheel were sold, are you selling the older used clutch/flywheel or not at all?

Also i have a good m3 auto transmission if you want it.

Holy shit, now this is a good deal. Can you find out the price shipped to Toronto, Canada - for the entire swap kit?

Hey guys, thanks for the reply.

I got a PM a few minutes after I posted it and I'm gonna give him 1st crack at it. I just PM'ed him again I'll give him til tomorrow to decide.

I looked up shipping from Boston to Minneapolis and it looked like the tranny alone was $80 or so. I'm planning on getting a rubbermade tub and padding the tranny in there. I offered to cover all shipping/packaging costs over $100 to him, so $1000 shipped. That works for Georgia too, cali I'd say $1050 shipped.

I'm planning on sending tranny in 1 package, everything else in another and maybe driveshaft in a 3rd box or maybe mark it seperate the halves and put it in with tranny if it fits. Either way I'll get it there safely, I used to work as a shipping lackey for a pro audio company sending 10k dollar parts the size of cereal boxes, I know how to pack stuff so it gets there safe.

To answer other questions, the guy gave me his higher miles clutch and flywheel. It's included in the 900 + ship price. Clutch looks fine, it's got meat left. Can't really guarantee the clutch/pp besides that they look fine and came out of a car that was putting down power hard enough to drop a valve or something and ruin a motor :)
Dual clutch flywheel looks fine though, I wouldn't hesitate taking some sand paper to it and using it.

Sorry no need for an auto trans, don't have an e36.

Thanks for the interest everybody, hoping to get rid of this quick, bought a 635 on a whim off of ebay and the silly rules say I need to pick it up, pashaw.

ARGH I want this so bad but not enough dough... :( I only have half your asking price for the full kit at the present time. Could you find out the cost shipped to Toronto? I might just save up for the next little while and grab this off you if it's still available. PM me please, regarding the shipping.

I would also be able to sel you my Auto trans after? Take it towards a trade?

don't need your auto, I don't think the manual trans is less than 66 lbs so i can't ship it usps and other carriers are expensive as hell. If it's still around when you get the cash we can look around for a cheaper shipper but ups and dhl are expensive

Approx. how much? I'd be fine with UPS or Fedex, I wouldn't use USPS to ship something this valuable.

unless i get desperate i'd rather not ship to canada right now. You can research it though and if you find something reasonable let me know. Coming from 02445. I think the tranny is about 80 lbs. and the rest of the stuff probably about 80 lbs too. All the parts, clutch, flywheel, pressure plate and driveshaft. dim's I can guess on, if you want me to measure I can do that tomorrow
