What bulb type does a E36 use? From what i know i think they are h7's. Im not 100% sure. Im wanting to buy a HID kit for my E36 but dont know what bulb size.

if you have stock lights, I wouldn't recommend you used an hid kit there, they use 9006, if you have zkw,depo,bosch,dj auto, they use H1, and projector36 use H7

In Australia I think they have the Euro lights and if I am not mistaken are H1's.

Euro = H1 as mentioned. Works nicely with an HID upgrade.
