Take care,
Chris.
m.olennick 09-06-2007, 07:31 PM In the future, HPF might considering hosting the event -- Pacific has many mixed reviews and honestly I would only go to see, in person, the innovative and result-producing products HPF offers.
I'd like to swing by but am hesitant as I don't want to have shit parts pushed down my throat by Mark.

I went down with my good friend to have his 2002's side-drafts balanced; something we both could do but wanted to be sure they were perfect. The ass hat who "worked with steve dinan" was making dumbass remarks about needing a different ignition system and pushed a POS fireball system as well as had the car running worse than it was when we were working on it. Upon returning back to our normal parts guy -- who informed us, every single one of those ignitions he sold were warrantied at least twice; we realized we'd been had.
Needless to say, the guy who owns the 2002 won't have people touch his car much after that.

Unfortunately HPF and Pacific have been working together for awhile now, or so I am under the impression. When I was down there last, Mark wouldn't stop taking credit for the turbo kit.
Pacific really is the last BMW shop I would ever recommend.
dem3n 09-07-2007, 01:15 PM Damn.... I agree that those are some harsh comments. But I guess I've heard worse.

It is far better to have the words of wisdom from those around you and avoid potential grievance than rely on ignorance. In any case, at the end of the day -- the words from others are only opinions and it is entirely up to you to decide for yourself.

my comments are from personal experience. they did my swap but would not give me my m42 back or give me credit. they are a bunch of freakin thieves

As are mine.
Regardless, the point remains that in both our opinions -- it is inadvisable to do business with Pacific. :)
SiGmA 09-08-2007, 04:38 AM Pacific really is the last BMW shop I would ever recommend. From seeing a tranny not bolted to the block to seeing the massive use of zip ties in the engine bay of a VERY expensive e30 M52 swap, I would never go to PMS.
More info about Pacific Motorsports please. They seem to have a pretty good rep with the local BMW Club, but it's best for me to hear as much about them from everyone and try to make an informed decision. Any shops around the Portland/Beaverton area that's reputable? Autohause Bayern any good? I'm going to need to find a shop soon to get some work done on my car and well, I don't want zip ties ^_^. Thanks!
m.olennick 09-10-2007, 10:55 PM I haven't had personal experience with Autohaus however the reputation they presently hold isn't very good.
I like ARAuto Service (Adrenaline Racing.) Seth is a regular poster in these forums and extremely on top of his game, plus I heard they got another tech to help with their high demand! Brian -- the tech who would regularly do my work on ARAuto is very meticulous and extremely knowledgeable on all BMW models.
I've even seen them cleaning up the poor installs from other shops... I don't need to delve into that though.

Adrenaline Racing is the best local shop.

yeah I would have to agree with that
Ty Vil 09-11-2007, 12:28 PM I like the crew at Pacific, but I can't attend tonight due to educational commitments.

hahahahha.... exactly what i was thinking
jonnywong 09-11-2007, 04:29 PM Anyone going for this one?
m.olennick 09-11-2007, 04:40 PM due to educational obligations i won't be attending, in addition to my aforementioned opinions on the hosting site.
smonkbmw 09-11-2007, 07:29 PM then again is the purpose of the meet to actually bs and MEET people on the board or is it to have PMS service your car? two different things in my opinion.
