View Full Version : H4 hid kit off ebay video
THEhomelessONE 09-06-2007, 01:19 AM i bought them off ebay for 79.99 total, got here in 2 days, installing wasnt too bad, wires seem a bit cheap, but they are holding up, and for less than 100 bux they are pretty damn good. i got the 5000k btw. still glares pretty bad, so if you dont have projectors get the 3000k even though it cost a bit more (i think) let me know what ya think.;)

THEhomelessONE 09-06-2007, 10:28 PM thanks doc, damn your rims are too hard with that color
The Beastmaster 09-06-2007, 10:43 PM Personally, I prefer to pay more for a product with a better warranty. Lifetime warranty rocks!
E36UC 09-06-2007, 11:01 PM how much did you pay for em? take some pics once you get em workin :Di paid 220 for them there are d2s and i will post some pics soon depending on when my car will get done.
THEhomelessONE 09-07-2007, 12:43 AM same here, but i dont have that much money right now, so hello ebay lol, mine r d2s bulbs too, you think the d2r's would help make less glare in a reflector style headlamp? what are you doing to your car now?
E36UC 09-07-2007, 01:42 AM Idk i heard that d2s's are better than d2r's so i bought them. well about my car i bought my car from an auction and it was hit in the front so im fixing it right now and its approx 80% complete
THEhomelessONE 09-08-2007, 05:00 AM ooo auctions are bomb, my uncle got his sienna for 14grand, and was worth 20+ grand, but his license expired or something?
ultimachi 09-08-2007, 06:44 AM You're going to end up killing someone with those headlights. Are you running sealed beams with HID'S? THe glare is so bad it's hitting the top of your garage. You're going to be blinding everyone, and the 2 beams are going to be like looking into the sun with incoming traffic. The HID's look like they work fine, it's your headlights that need to be upgraded. Get some Euro ellipsoids if they have them for your car or retrofit some projectors. But something has to change with your headlight setup. Not safe at all....
THEhomelessONE 09-08-2007, 02:21 PM o yea your right, i posted another thread about it asking if i can fit ellipsoids in the e23 but no luck, they are facing super low and all the way to the right, and i checked again and they are not as bad anymore, but before people were flashing their highbeams at me like crazy, im thinking about just tinting all the lights so it wont glare as bad, think that will be fine?

No, it wouldn't because the light will scatter all over the place. The tint will only dim the scatter. It won't cure it. I just looked on ebay to see if they offer any projector headlights for the E23. They don't. You're going to have to do something custom. Check out this website. HIDplanet.com. You'll most likely be the first person to do a retrofit on the E23, so be prepared to do it from scratch.
THEhomelessONE 09-13-2007, 07:15 PM id rather dim the scatter than spend 120 on lights that MIGHT fit my car, and if i dont do something wrong

If you aren't willing or prepared to do a full retrofit, do Not put a standard China Ebay HID kit into a sealed-beam housing. It's not safe. It's not legal. It makes it so that everyone else out there who is CORRECTLY installing HID's has to deal with all kinds of regulations and laws banning something that's really not a big deal.
HIDplanet.com should be your best friend for the next few months.
jimmyloose 09-14-2007, 06:31 PM I will GIVE you projectors if you need components. I have an extra set. Two actually.

That's the thing. THe projectors won't be plug and play. You've gotta go custom and retrofit them in. Otherwise pull your HID's out and keep your stock lighting, because you're going to end up taking a life with those. Don't be stupid.
Take jimmyloose's offer on his free projectors.
