I know that winter is coming up, and I'd like to protect my convertible top as best as I can. I also LOVE the way the hard-top looks on the Z4's. Is there anywhere BESIDES the dealership you can buy these? I know they're wanting around $2800, just seems a little steep. Any help would be great. I haven't seen any pics of Z4's with the hard-top on this site either...I'd love to see some!

I believe they show up on the forums/eBay every once in awhile, painted already. Aside from that the only place I now of is the dealer.

There are more pics of hardtops here, I have seen a silver one, you just have to search for them. Above are 2 older posts that have alot of good info.:lol

I just picked one up for $1350 after just missing one for $1200. They are out there on Craigslist and hidden on BMW forums classified sections. The chance of having the retrofit kit on your Z4 is most unlikely unless it was ordered from the factory as an option. The retrofit kit is a little less than $200 from online BMW parts sources. Do not let the dealer install this as it is just an hour install and a search on the forum will find most have paid the dealer 2-3 hours of labor. It is a very easy install and can be done in less than an hour. If you have any questions let me know (PM) I will be more than happy to answer.
