View Full Version : I simply want glass headlights, that's it.
qidm67 09-04-2007, 11:48 PM Depo or ZKW? I only want glass lenses, definetly not angel eyes. Projectors would be nice if the price isn't too bad. HID's are a bit expensive I believe.
So which one, DEPO or ZKW?
-Must be solid and be superior to rock chips cracking lenses.
-Must also be moisture PROOF.
-And plug and play is a must as usual.

whats your budget like?
for the price of zkw's you can get depo and hids and pnp, that is a better option then zkw without hids.
pm me if you need help or take a look at the sale thread above.

Up to 2...it really depends on the product.
I just want something reliable and that will not crack and fog up. Are they basic Depo Glass projectors and ZKW glass projectors essentially the same?

if i were you i would go with DEPO with HID, you just want glass headlights with projectors. If you dont have the money just get DEPO lights with no HID.
to insure you dont crack them i would order some stoneguard or lamin-x to protect your investment

they are the same in that both are projector headlight, the zkw's are of better overall quality but at the same price you can get depo with hids which are way brighter.
if you are at $200 that will only buy you one zkw or a set of depo's.:)

Ok let forget ZKW, it seems as though DEPO it is. Are the basic DEPO glass lenses with projectors or are they an upgrade? What is the standard DEPO with glass anyways?

volcomnator999 09-05-2007, 12:31 PM when i had my Depos they seemed to fog up really easily....but other than that they looked great! i now have ZKW's (used for only 120) with TSX projectors and Hella Gen 3 HID kit...and i do not have the low beam caps on both of the headlights and i NEVER gotten any fog inside the headlights. The Depos are great and they look awesome
millertimebmw03 09-05-2007, 12:35 PM I think depos are more in the price range of alot of people. But I am still stuck at $450 for Depos/HID's/ Angle eyes/ lamin-X. I just can't yet justify that much money.
I would hate to spend this and then have them fog-up also!!!
hootie 09-05-2007, 12:55 PM Do the depo gen IV have city lights? boy i love city lights.

the fogging is due to improper install, over torquing the bolts in specific,

the same applies to zkw or bosch, they all have the same exact issue and its easily fixed.

Or a big rock from a truck hitting and cracking the lenses. Or some A-hole backing up and breaking them. Or if you were in a accident. $500 for only headlights is expensive especially for an E36. You can get springs and shocks for $500 all around Or you can buy new ball joints all around plus bushings and still have money for headlights (DEPO's). I have the money for $400 headlights but no way in hell would install them on an E36 or even an E46.
Well anyways, I'm torn between the plastic OEM DEPO's and the glass ones. I just don't want moisture, cracking, burning, and failure to be associated with the headlights I buy.

are the ones on ur car broken? otherwise why wud u b torn btween plastic or glass? If u are gunna spend ANY money then at least get the basic depos
BoostInduced 09-05-2007, 05:40 PM Stop crying and spend the money. no matter what you buy, it will be an upgrade to stock and you'll see better. Get glass depos with stoneguard. If you DONT buy stone guard plan on buying another set of headlights WITH stoneguard.
