Hey all,

I'm a noobie to the forums, so please be gentle with any flaming if I'm not following the rules. Guidance will be appreciated.

I currently have a '95 e36 M50TU (that I purchased new) setup and am exploring options to increase horsepower and performance as it has been recently retired as a DD. I've explored the FI options and am now considering engine conversion to keep it N/A.

I have a line on a '99 S52 engine with a damaged head. As you all know, this is an OBDII engine, so, it makes sense to convert to my OBDI system as I already have all the parts. My question is: can I also use my current single VANOS head from my M50 to replace the damaged head on the S52? This would (seem) as an easy swap and solve many of the conversion problems while gaining more litres and ultimately horsepower and torque. Is my M50 head the same as the S52?

If this is possible, what would estimated horsepower output be with the OBDI system? The S52 puts out 241 hp with OBDII.

Please feel free to laugh if this is a stupid idea. Input greatly appreciated.

the head is the same minus cams, cam treys, lifters, and the s52 only has 1 port for the temp sensor, and the valve springs
. I also herd that the s50/2 head flow a little better.
