Seriously looking at picking up an 07 3.0si Z4 coupe within the next month or two.

1. From what I've learned so far, the auto dim feature on the rearview mirror only comes as part of the premium package. Does the non-premium package mirror have a manual adjust feature? If not, can an auto-dim/or manual dim mirror be retrofited?

2. Is the factory alarm worth the money?

3. Navagation; is it user friendly? Are there additional costs to keep it updated?

4. Do the xenon lights make that amount of difference? Are these something that can be added post purchase? Approximate cost?

Thanks in advance for the info. Looking forward to becoming a full member, not just a lurker.

1. The auto dimming interior and exterior mirrors does in fact come with the premium package, also heated interior/exterior as well. The non-auto dimming mirror can manually dim by turning the "clown nose" below the mirror. I do believe retrofitting shouldn't be a problem because from what I've seen BMW pre-wires all cars even with options the car was not built to have.

2. Cant comment on this, dont have it.

3. Cant comment on this, dont have it. E46 one was great though, easy to use and very helpful. I think they release updated DVDs every few years, not too bad to keep up to date.

4. Xenon headlights make a huge difference, definitely worth the cost, it's a 700$ option.

Literally a night and day difference, that is a generic HID vs Halogen picture. They can be added post purchase with an HID retrofit kit but your best bet is to get the option. You also get bi-xenon HID which means your low beams as well as high beams will be HID.

Hope this helps.

2. Navigation is user friendly besides of POI. Updating cost is around $200 (see another thread here). However I believe you can live without updates for 3 years, unless you have a lot of new developments in your area.
4. I like HID and can't imagine a car without it, I do not why it isn't a standard thing, like in 350Z or TT.
