Anyone know exactly what transmission an auto 525i 1994 would have? Is it the GM 4L30E transmission? Same as the Isuzu Trooper and Rodeo? Wheres the plugs on it to fill the oil on it?
Thanks!

Filler plug is on the driver side while drain plug is on the opposite side at the corner. kjkurtz20 09-04-2007, 05:46 PM Your talking at the corner of the pan itself right? Green525iT 09-04-2007, 05:49 PM Thats right! kjkurtz20 09-04-2007, 06:46 PM and you use some sort of pump to get it in or what? sorry for these uh...questions i could answer myself if my stupid bentley manual would finally get here one day... kjkurtz20 09-08-2007, 08:06 PM So I changed the fluid and filter in my tranny now. It drives pretty good. I have my reverse back. And I can get up to speed without any trouble. It seems to shift a little rough when you accelerate slowly between 2 and 3 I think it is, but everything else is perfect. If your going 55, and floor it, it downshifts like its brand new (which it didn't downshift at all before I changed the stuff). Now I was driving it though, and I got trans program again today. As it was working well...what the heck? And it says inspection when I turn it on. Does it just need to be reset or what? What do you think is the problem if just the fluid fixed it that much? Thanks!
