I have to say that it was somewhat disappointing. Not nearly as good as that last few years. Seems like not as much effort to make it a success. Even ran out of bottled water in the early afternoon throughout the whole park.
What was with all the BMW racecars being roped off? I mean cars that were there that were FAR nicer were even letting people sit in them.
Oh well. maybe I'm just whining ...:D

I agree in alot of ways with what you have said... Not as exciting as in the past. Still great to see all those cars taht were there, though.
In particular, I was really, really looking forward to seeing (and hearing) the e30 M3, the 3.0 CSL, the M1 ProCar and the Junior Team car running at a real pace. However, in reality, the exhibition laps were weak.... real weak.
I still had fun, and the BMW tent/parking/food/gift bag was enjoyable.

Having a total of 3 BMW racers was very weak...........and to be roped off was a bummer but they let me get closer..no biggie. The parade laps were very slow. Last year they ran the BMW show/race cars much harder. And its true that alot more valuable cars were easier to get to...and sit in.
Ive been going every year for a while now...like 6 yrs or so. I loved the event but the turnout was a bit small. I took 100 shots....now I cant get them on my flash card...I have no idea why.:mad
Those are some awesome cars...

Maybe they were saving the engines for the Watkins Glen vintage races this coming weekend. BMW is the featured marque.
For those that don't know already, PTG no longer has care of the historic BMWs.
