I need some new tires for the wife's X3. The only problem is that the stock ones are horrible. We got 30k out of those tires with almost all freeway driving. I was looking for a better set of tires, without breaking the bank. My wife commutes about 60 miles a day (maybe a bit more), and we head up to our house in Tahoe quite a bit on weekends (both in the winter as well as summer). What kind of advice can you guys give me?

BTW, the tire size is:
235/50/18

Can I go any wider on this tire?

You can get the tires cheap here then take them to any garage to have them installed, usually for a small fee, but its better then what the dealer will give you for a total price.

If you got 30k out of 18" sport tires, you are not going to find a tire that goes longer. That's not "horrible", it's friggin awesome!!
