I'll Make it quick as I can... and easy on the eyes

1992 bmw 325i

1. New Battery

2 I turn the ignition I Only hear what I (Think) is the Fuel pump no click nothing.

3. I Jump start the car runs for approx 45 sec here is whats is wierd
If I give it gas she bogs down, If I turn on the headlights the car dies.

4. now I'm reading 9.3v on new battery it was 12.7v (10 mins ago)

5. Checked fuseable link.

6. What did I burn or short out? (Installed Autometer Tach)

I have searched "ALL" over the net in and out of forums no avail

DME Relay? wont start, and bogs when I give it gas.

Someone please just point me in the right direction... Im tired

What is voltage when you jump start the car at idle, also if you give a gas does it drops+

The fuel pump only runs if the DME sees timing data from a rotating crankshaft. So the noise is probably something else (unless the DME is fried). Im not sure if it is true for a 92, but later E36's with EWS have the started also controlled by the DME.

I don't know where you picked up the signal for the Autometer tach, but all of the possibilities involve the DME. It is possible that your addition has fried the DME. The first action should be to undo everything you did when installing the tach and see how the car behaves then. If it still won't crank or start via the key damage has been done and you should send the car to a dealer or very good BMW indie shop.

What did you tie into as a power source for the tach or the signal source. If you hadnt stated that you installed the tach i would say you had alternator issues. Are your battery connections tight?

I'm with Pelican - I would have guessed alternator - take out the tach and go from there.

1. The Devils Tach - I removed asap still no start.

2. When Wiring the tach I Powered it into the red 14 gauge wire from ignition
Module under the steering wheel.

3. I havent checked voltage while running yet I will today

4. Yes she bogs/Putts if I try to give it gas so it wont die

5. Alternator - yes but did the tach kill it?

Please keep the ideas coming

DME Relay?

I will post a video clip of my issue after work... Thank You So Much

UPDATE!

While filming so I could post a video of my issues I jumped the car turned on the head lights and the car died.

I jumped the car again and it no longer Bogged and the headlights / interior lights, dash, obc are brighter than they have ever been.

The car starts and is running fine, Ive waited 10 mins tryed it again and its working. WTF

Nobody ever told me these cars fix themselves...

I removed the battery and DME relay overnight did that do it?
I did nothing different, and why is everything so bright?

Any Ideas?

I'll Update once more tommorrow when I put her back together...

THANK YOU EVERYONE WHO HELPED...

You need to check your voltage make shure it's under 14volts, otherwise you will fry dme.Go to autozone or advence autoparts, they do it for free.
