Will a set of 2000 M5 OEM tail lights fit my 1997 528i without a ballast or any electrical issues. These would replace my lights with the yellow stripe and be a nice update. I don't mind if I have to modify mounting holes.

should be simple plug and play, the upgrade makes a hell of a difference... especially the OEM "facelifted" crystal version

They'll fit, but will require some drilling.

If you're talking about 00 M5 tails then they just bolt right up. I have these tails and love them. They were only produced for one year which makes them somewhat rare. I love 'em :)
