I searched and searched but did not find the answer. I have a 94 530it and the trans shutters when leaving a stop sign. Let off the gas and it goes away and I can accelerate normally from then on. I just changed the fluid and filter with OE filter. It drained out 5 qts but I was only able to get 4 back in. The old fluid was black but not burnt. It got much better but still has about 5 quick shakes and then goes. Also, when it downshifts, it will flash up to 5500 or so if i let it. Am I just low on fluid or.....

I just bought the car knowing that the trans was having problems.
Any help would be great.

the car has 176xxx but I do not have any history before 100xxx and the engine was changed at some time.

Usually, when there is a shudder taking off, it is symptomatic of clutch-packs that are toast. I.E. - rebuild the trans.
